You don't have to do it alone.

You didn't become a tattoo artist to also become a social media expert, content creator, photographer, and videographer. Of all the hours and work you pour into honing your craft, imagine if the same level of expertise was put into the visuals that help your future clients find and book you?

What would those visuals look like? What kind of clients could you attract? How might your business change?

What if your business had a photographer dedicated solely to your clients and your style?

If we're being honest:

It's rare that a client's cell phone pic does your work justice, if they send one at all.

Putting yourself out there consistently is hard. It's even harder when your content doesn't feel representative of your quality.

Creating and executing your pieces is your focus, craft, and first priority. Documenting them is secondary, at best.

You Deserve

Someone who knows your vibe and can capture it authentically. You're an artist - spend your time on your art, not making content about your art.

It's considered a red flag not to showcase healed work over time. Consistency is key, but beautiful is even better. Chasing down clients... is not.

Your work speaks for itself, but the way its presented can make all the difference between future clients scrolling and actually booking.

Portraits for your clients

Offer your clients more than just a lasting piece of art, but an entire experience; they'll not only feel incredible showing off their new piece, but celebrated as a whole with portraits to match. They get portraits that make them feel amazing, while you get photos that make you and your work look luxurious.

How it Works

Paid-for content

As an affiliate artist, when your clients get photographed by Renata you'll receive already-paid-for content, ready to post, and discounted rates for you and your client when you commission portraits of your pieces. When recommending Renata as your go-to portrait photographer, your clients will sign a release to license their images for your business use on social media, your website, and in person. Everyone wins!

Let's get started!

QUESTIONS

"Can my client and I split the cost for tattoo photography?"

Absolutely! If you and your client are in agreement that you'd like to share the photos from our photoshoot and split the cost between you both, I'll create two separate invoices with one contract you'll both sign. The best session(s) to book when splitting the cost are for "Tattoo Portraits Only," to focus on the artwork. If your client would like personal portraits additionally, book a consultation and I'll create a custom quote where everyone wins!

"What photos do I get from my clients?"

When  your client books a portrait session with a license added-on to share photos with you, we'll go over the pieces we're photographing ahead of time and I'll map out the time needed. Unlike a Tattoo Portrait that's focused solely on the artwork and will yield more variety of photos for you this client add-on will have three photos per piece to share: one close-up detail shot, one full piece angle, and one wide angle. The photos that will ultimately be shared back to you from your client are ones that they approve for you to share commercially.

"Can I offer my clients anonymity in their tattoo photos?"

Of course! While face tattoos and certain placements make anonymity difficult (although with photoshop and censoring notable features, definitely doable!) most tattoo placements can be photographed while maintaining your clients' anonymity. Their photos will never be shared with you by me without their written consent, so you'll always receive photos that are pre-approved for sharing!

"Who owns the photos?"

Copyright law and contracts, it's the super sexy part of art making! Here's an overview: anyone who takes a photo owns the copyright to that photo automatically. Photographers technically own the photos, but licenses allow people and companies to use the photos within the parameters of their contract. Transferring copyright is a lengthy and at times expensive process, so photographers instead use a contract to license the photos to their clients. Private individuals usually sign for a personal use license where they can't sell their photos, while companies or artists will sign for a commercial license that allows for them to profit from the use of those images.

If you are hiring a photographer and you do not sign a contract, the photography owns those photos outright, and your interests are not protected. If you have clients sending you photos that they took with a photographer and you use them commercially, you're likely violating their copyright. It goes on and on, but simply put, my goal is to provide photography where everyone wins and feels great about what they're sharing, because it's something all parties have agreed to that result in a beautiful document of your amazing work.
