New Orleans' ABBA themed dance krewe is a found family affair.
"It was Mardi Gras 2019. Three Super Troupers were partying at a parade when a dance krewe shimmied by. One girl said to the other, “We can dance! We can jive! We should have the time of our lives!” And thus, the idea of Voulez Krewe, an ABBA themed dance krewe, was born." - Voulez Krewe, The Lore (aka the intro on their website)
These three women also happened to know a photographer who loved ABBA almost as much as she loved them, and had a vision of how to use her gifts to give the blossoming krewe a visual identity. If you haven't guessed it, it was me, and I've been an active member, Board Member, and the in-house photographer and videographer for the krewe ever since!
